Susan B. Nottingham, AAMS^®

Susan Nottingham began her career in financial services in 1987, as a Management Associate at Sovran Financial Corporation. After seven years in retail banking and small business lending, Susan moved to the corporation’s investment affiliate. She holds numerous professional registrations including the Series 7, 63 and 65 and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) designation. Prior to joining Steward Partners, Susan worked with her husband and colleague, George, at Wells Fargo and Legg Mason Wood Walker (now Morgan Stanley). She has volunteered in numerous capacities for non-profits over the years, most recently stepping down after an 8-year term on the national board of USA Field Hockey, headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO. Susan was Vice Chair of the organization and also chaired both the Finance & Audit and Nominating Committees. USA Field Hockey, a 501(c)(3), is the recognized national governing body (NGB) for the sport of field hockey in the United States.

Susan received her bachelor’s degree from Mary Baldwin College and Master’s Degree from Old Dominion University.

When not working with clients, Susan enjoys renovating properties including their “quiet piece of heaven” on the Piankatank River in rural Gloucester County, Virginia, and wildlife photography.
